This summer, two of our properties, Istoria in Santorini and Parīlio in Paros, will participate in the 2026 Oceanic Global Short Film Festival: Design Hotels Screening Series, a global initiative created by Oceanic Global in partnership with Design Hotels to raise awareness around ocean conservation through the power of storytelling.

Under this year’s theme, “Films That Awaken New Depths,” the festival brings together powerful ocean stories from filmmakers around the world, exploring the emotional, cultural, and ecological connections between humanity and the sea.

Judged by an esteemed jury including renowned oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle, alongside leading voices from the film and environmental industries, the 2026 edition showcases films that go beyond awareness — inviting audiences to reflect, connect, and take action for our blue planet.

As part of this global screening series, Istoria and Parīlio will host intimate cinema experiences for guests, featuring the festival’s award-winning short films together with At Sea, a Greece-based submission filmed across the Greek waters.

Surrounded by the Aegean Sea, our destinations are deeply connected to the natural landscapes that shape them. Through initiatives such as this, we continue to celebrate experiences that inspire curiosity, encourage dialogue, and honour our relationship with the environment.
